Practical guide

and tips

From the Tourist Office, heading towards Place de l’Hôtel de Ville, where we immediately attack the climb towards the hill to bypass Thermes, just below the outdoor pool, with an uninterrupted view over the Perle des Ardennes.

A straight descent towards the bottom of the Parc des Sept Heures and the Promenade des Français before also naturally climbing back up, heading to the graveyard. We then take the left, in the Staneux woods, where wide forest paths branch out, between deciduous and coniferous trees.

We then make a wide loop, which comes in turn to rub shoulders with the Chavion Pond and the Golf. Return towards Spa by running along Sol Cress and by going through the Balmoral district estates

Advice

Drinks and food recommended.
Mobile telephone and survival blanket recommended.

Don't miss stopping at Thermes to admire the view over the city and to watch out for the cable car passing, which transports spa clients between the centre and the spa building.
Take care in your descent just after going through Thermes: the ground is covered in shale and it is very, very slippery when wet.

The 5km and 10km paths are common over the first section of the route. Don't miss the fork !
