In Belgium, experience the trail like nowhere else

Even though it is one of the smallest countries in Europe, Belgium has plenty to offer when it comes to trail running and Nordic walking.

In fact, the Belgian Ardennes is an ideal playground and training ground for trail runners looking for exceptional natural environments and an elevation that allows them to enjoy their passion.
Based in the east of Belgium, the EXTRATRAIL network currently offers 28 permanent trails, totalling more than 600 kilometres of paths (17,000 metres of positive elevation) and tracks dedicated to this outdoor sport. An Ultra Tour des Sources (UTDS) also allows the most ambitious to run 157 kilometres with 4,140 metres of positive elevation, either in one go or while roaming.

In 2017, 35,000 people* ran at least one trail in Belgium (+5.84% compared to 2016), which is a perfect reflection of the passion people have for this activity that can be enjoyed in the heart of nature.

It is no surprise, then, that the EXTRATRAIL network records high numbers of visitors to its trails, since they are accessible for free all year round.
